Kripal Singh
Born in India. Bachelor of Botany and Chemistry (2003), Master's Botany (2005), PhD Botany (2013). Kripal is an ecologist working in the area of Restoration Ecology, Biomass Feedstock Production and Biodiversity Conservation. To contribute in ecological restoration of degraded lands he is understanding impacts and efficacies of different land use systems, cropping methods and amendments on soil processes on the basis of changes in soil physical, chemical and biological properties. For biomass production on degraded lands the researcher is working on establishing communities of neglected and underutilized tall perennial grasses. The biodiversity conservation through integrating ecological principles (landscape heterogeneity, multifunctionality, overyielding, functional and species diversity etc.) in cultivation of degraded or cultivable lands.
Since his masters in 2005, he has worked as teacher, project assistant, guest faculty, PhD scholar, three postdoctoral positions and published more than 45 publications including research papers, review articles, book chapters, books, book reviews, letter to the editor, policy documents etc. in high impact journals. He is professionally skilled in organizational, communication, writing and leadership/team skills. He has been awarded with various research fellowships, awards from India and abroad.
