Rafael Kelman

BSc Civil Engineering from UFRJ (1997) MSc Water Resources Engineering from COPPE (1999) DSc Systems Engineering (optimization) from COPPE (2008) Rafael Kelman is a director of PSR, an energy consulting company with activities in 40 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. He has BSc and MSc degrees in civil engineering and a PhD in Operations Research. At PSR he coordinates the areas of hydropower development, renewable generation, inventory of CO2 emissions and water resources. He has been an invited speaker and lecturer in more than 30 countries, and is the author of 60 papers in refereed journals. Dr. Kelman has recently been the lead author of the energy chapter of the ?Sustainable Development Blueprint? of the Coalition of Companies for the Climate, an association of some of Brazil?s largest private companies.

Graduado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1997), mestre em Recursos Hídricos pela COPPE/UFRJ (1999) e doutor em Engenharia de Sistemas pela COPPE/UFRJ (2009). Seus temas de interesse incluem planejamento energético, otimização, energias renováveis, hidrologia, economia e finanças. É diretor da PSR, onde está ingressou em 1997. Gerencia projetos de pesquisa & desenvolvimento, sistemas computacionais e estudos de consultoria nas áreas de energia e recursos hídricos para clientes no Brasil e no exterior.
