Helenita Costa Quadros

Bacharel em Biotecnologia pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2016), mestra (2018) e doutora (2022) em Ciências pela Fiocruz Bahia. Foi bolsista pelo PET Biotecnologia da UFBA (2012-2016) desenvolvendo atividades acadêmico-científicas nos eixos ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Durante o mestrado e doutorado desenvolveu habilidades nas áreas de biologia celular e molecular, química medicinal, parasitologia, nanotecnologia e farmacologia. Realizou o doutorado sanduíche na Università degli Studi di Milano em Milão, Itália, em 2019 (CAPES PrInt). Foi professora substituta do curso de biotecnologia da UFBA (2021). Recebeu menção honrosa pelo desempenho e dedicação como pesquisadora voluntária na plataforma de diagnóstico molecular do COVID-19 da Fiocruz Bahia. Recebeu prêmio de melhor tese da Fiocruz Bahia (2020). Foi pesquisadora bolsista DTI-A do Instituto de Tecnologia de Saúde do SENAI-CIMATEC, atuando no estudo clínico de fase I do projeto Vacina RNA MCTI CIMATEC HDT. Atualmente realiza o pós-doutorado também na Fiocruz Bahia.

I am Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Bahia (2016) and a Master's in Science from the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology in Health and Investigative Medicine at Fiocruz Bahia (PgBSMI) (2018), with an emphasis on the areas of pharmaceutical nanotechnology and regenerative medicine. I was awarded a scholarship by the Tutorial Biotechnology Education Program at UFBA (2012-2016) developing activities in the fields of teaching, research and extension. I acted as coordinator and teacher of the Pre-Entrance Exam Course at UFBA, in addition to being monitor of extension courses. During his scientific initiation, he worked on projects in the areas of organic chemistry, pharmacology and microbiology. I was an intern at the Agroindustry at the State University of Santa Cruz (2015) working in the areas of microbiology and quality control. Currently, is developing his doctorate in Sciences at PgBSMI in the areas of medicinal chemistry, parasitology and pharmacology. The thesis in progress involves in vitro and in vivo studies of host-parasite interaction, drug-therapeutic target interaction studies, development of drugs with antimalarial potential and also of nanosystems for drug delivery of medicinal bioactives. I did sandwich doctorate at the Università degli Studi di Milano in Milan, Italy (Scholarship CAPES PrInt in 2019). Acts as Substitute Professor at ICS-UFBA, teaching Animal Cell Biology, Special Topics in Biotechnology, and Nanotechnology and Biomaterials. Also, I worked as a volunteer researcher on the COVID-19 molecular diagnostics platform at Fiocruz Bahia. I received the award for best thesis in the "Thesis in progress" category at Fiocruz Bahia (2020).
