Professor Renate M R Wellen, is the General Coordinator of Research at Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), CNPq Fellow level 1D, with Post-Doctorate in composite materials at Fraunhofer IFAM (Bremen - Germany), she is professor at Department of Materials Engineering (DEMat) at UFPB, where teaches courses in Material Sciences and Polymeric Materials. She is permanent professor in the Postgraduate Programs of Materials Engineering Departments at UFPB and UFCG and in the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry at UFPB, supervising Master's, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral projects. She is reviewer for several national and international journals. With projects approved at national and international levels, she has experience in the study of Thermoplastics and Thermosettings, working on the following topics: Crystallization and polymer properties, Curing processes and property control, Biologically-based polymers, Modification of polymers and polymeric composites, Kinetics of crystallization, Curing kinetics, Degradation kinetics, Biodegradation kinetics. In partnership with IFAM Scientists from the Department of Adhesives, she has worked in the research of Thermoplastics and Thermosettings, Modification of biologically based polymers, crystallization kinetics, curing kinetics and production of high performance thermosets with Brazilian natural fibers. She currently supervises 3 Under graduation Projects, 2 Master's Projects, 10 PhD Projects and 1 Post-Doctoral Project.
