Diego Estevam Cavalcante

Doctoral Student in History at the Federal University of Ceará. Graduated (2013) and Master (2018) in History at the same institution, where he developed research on discourses related to plants between Brazil and Portugal in the 18th and 19th centuries. He has experience in the field of History, with an emphasis on Brazilian History, Environmental History, History of Science and Global History. He is currently a member of the National Environmental History WG and the State Environmental History WG-Section Ceará. He is part of the History, Memory, Nature and Culture Research Group, linked to the Department of History at UFC and the Immigration, Migration and Environmental History Laboratory (LABIMHA-UFSC). He works on the following topics: History of Colonial Spanish America, Colony and Empire Brazil, empires in the 19th century, Natural History, scientific expeditions, naturalists, scientific thought, botany, history of transference and acclimatization of medicinal plants, especially the so-called Quina (Cinchona) , production and circulation of knowledge. Doutorando em História pela Universidade Federal do Ceará. Graduado (2013) e Mestre (2018) em História na mesma instituição, onde desenvolveu pesquisa sobre os discursos relacionados às plantas entre Brasil e Portugal nos séculos XVIII e XIX. Tem experiência na área de Historia, com ênfase em História do Brasil, Historia Ambiental, Historia das Ciências e História Global. Atualmente é membro do GT Nacional de História Ambiental e do GT Estadual de História Ambiental - Seção Ceará. Integra o Grupo de Pesquisa História, memória, natureza e cultura, vinculado ao Departamento de Historia da UFC e Laboratório de Imigração, migração e história ambiental (LABIMHA-UFSC). Trabalha nos seguintes temas: História da América Espanhola Colonial, Brasil Colônia e Império, impérios no século XIX, História Natural, expedições científicas, naturalistas, pensamento científico, botânica, história da transferência e aclimatação de plantas medicinais, especialmente a denominada Quina (Cinchona), produção e circulação de conhecimento.
