Leandra Fatorelli

I am a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at the Sustainability Research Institute working with Professor Monica Di Gregorio on the ESRC funded project Multi-level governance, REDD+ and synergies between climate change mitigation and adaptation (2014-2016), currently with a Science Without Borders scholarship.Prior to joining the University of Leeds I was a consultant for the Centre of International Forestry Research (CIFOR) working on the project Global Comparative Study on REDD+: National REDD+ Processes and Policies, focusing on the Brazilian and Peruvian case studies. In 2013 I joined the Technical Support Unit of the Brazilian Panel on Climate Change assisting the coordinators of the Working Group 3 ? Mitigation on Climate Change in the organization and production of the First National Assessment Report (1st RAN). From 2007 to 2012 I worked as executive coordinator of the research project Poor Land Use, Poor Health (PLUPH project), a collaboration between University of Brasília and the University of Québec à Montréal, funded by the International Research Development Centre (IDRC).I received my PhD in Policy Management of Sustainability from the University of Brasília, Centre of Sustainable Development, working about the perceptions of environmental change amongst rural residents of the Amazon region. The PhD project was part of the PLUPH project, whose aim was understand the relationships between land use, environmental change and human health using an interdisciplinary approach. I was a visiting PhD student at Stockholm Resilience Center for six months under the Programa de Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior (PDSE).

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2002), mestrado em Engenharia Ambiental pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2005) e doutorado pelo Centro de Desenvolvimento Sustentável da Universidade de Brasília, com estágio doutoral no exterior no Stockholm Resilience Centre. É pós-doutoranda na Universidade de Leeds desde 2014 trabalhando sobre sinergias entre mitigação e adaptação às mudanças climáticas em políticas de uso da terra no Brasil. Atuou como coordenadora executiva de projeto de pesquisa em abordagem ecossistêmica à saúde humana durante seis ano e trabalhou na Unidade de Apoio técnico do Primeiro Relatório de Avaliação Nacional (RAN1) do Painel Brasileiro de Mudanças Climáticas como bolsista DTI. Tem experiência em mudanças ambientais atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: investigação de áreas contaminadas, percepção de mudanças ambientais, mudanças climáticas, análise de redes sociais, análise de redes políticas, gestão e governança para enfrentamento de mudanças ambientais.
