Gisele Dias de Oliveira
Gisele is a Community Engagement Researcher at Centura Health, a multi-state integrated health system and the region?s largest health care provider serving Colorado and Western Kansas. She is involved with all aspects of community research, contributing to public health strategies to bring ?health? outside of hospitals? walls. This includes research protocols, interaction with research participants, dissemination of results, and community engagement initiatives to drive better health outcomes. Gisele?s educational credential includes a Bachelor's degree in Sports & Medicine/Physical Education, a Master's degree in Kinesiology & Health, and a second Master's degree in Public Health. Before joining Centura Health she was selected to the James Ferguson Emerging Infectious Diseases Fellowship with CDC and John Hopkins Medical School. Passionate about health liberation and an enthusiastic health advocate, Gisele demonstrated her leadership skills and appetite for social change developing and leading a community engagement and wellness program for a multinational company in Brazil; founding a project to build a classroom in Jamaica; establishing partnerships among health organizations to support Puerto Rico after the catastrophic hurricane in 2017, and supporting the improvement of data collection and analysis to reduce neonatal mortality in Peru and Nepal. In addition to being a public health supporter, Gisele is a vivid dance instructor who emphasizes freer forms of movements and fun music to her workshops. She recently worked with the American Heart Association to deploy dance and exercise sections to the Latino and Hispanic communities in Denver and participated in a radio interview with KBNO to talk about her Public Health efforts around Denver metro area.
