Rogério Aparecido Bataglioli
My research goal is to use biomaterials and synthetic biology tools to design biomaterials. My scientific background includes a bachelors degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Campinas (Brazil), in Prof. Marisa Beppu Lab, focusing on engineering biopolymer multilayer films for drug delivery, cancer cell capture, and bacterial killing. I also worked as a Ph.D. visiting student in Prof. Bradley Olsens lab at MIT, designing high-throughput methods to expedite the engineering and production of recombinant protein materials. I work as a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Bryan Hsu's Lab at Virginia Tech, designing bacteria and phages to precisely manipulate the mammalian gut microbiome for therapeutic purposes.
