Atualmente é Professor do Departamento de Ciências Administrativas (DCA) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Doutor e Mestre em Ciência da Computação pelo Centro de Informática (CIn) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) na área de Governança em Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC), com período sanduíche de um ano em The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canadá. MBA em Gestão Estratégica de TIC, Engenheiro Químico pela UFPE. Certificado ITIL, COBIT, CSM, membro do PMI e Scrum Alliance. É Coordenador do Agile Governance Research Lab (www.agilegovernance.org) e lidera o FREVO - Fostering Research on managEment and InnoVatiOn (www.frevo.org), pesquisador do Laboratório de Governança, Gerenciamento de Risco e Conformidade ? LabGRC/CCSA, atua ainda como Pesquisador nos seguintes grupos de pesquisa: Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Sistemas de Informação - NEPSI; Grupo de Pesquisa em Projetos (GP2) do CIn UFPE. Autor de livro e artigos, com mais de 25 anos de experiência na área de Ciência da Computação, com ênfase em Governança e Gestão, atuando principalmente nos seguintes tópicos: Agile Governance; Agile Enterprise: Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation; Game-Based Learning: Serious Games, Active Learning, Game Theory, Fun Theory, Gamification; Global Software Engineering; e-Health and Telemedicine; and MAnGve.

He is currently Professor of the Department of Management Sciences (DCA) at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science by the Computer Centre (CIn) of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in the area of Governance in Information and Communication Technologies (IT), with a one-year sandwich period at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. He holds an MBA in Strategic Management of IT, B. Eng. (Chemical Engineer) by UFPE. He holds ITIL, COBIT, CSM Certificates, and he is a member of PMI and Scrum Alliance. He is the Head of the Agile Governance Research Lab (www.agilegovernance.org) and leads the FREVO - Fostering Research on Management and InnoVatiOn (www.frevo.org); research of Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Laboratory ? LabGRC/CCSA; as well as he is a researcher of the following research groups: Nucleus of Studies and Research in Information Systems (NEPSI); and, Research Group on Projects (GP2) of CIn-UFPE. Author of books and articles, with more than 25 years of experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on Governance and Management, working mainly on the following topics: Agile Governance; Agile Enterprise: Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation; Game-Based Learning: Serious Games, Active Learning, Game Theory, Fun Theory, Gamification; Global Software Engineering; e-Health and Telemedicine; and MAnGve.
