Architect Engineer graduated in 1989 at the School of Architecture of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. MSc in Architecture and Urbanism in 1994 from Faculty of Architecture of the Federal University of Bahia. PhD in Architecture and Urbanism in 2003 from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo. Since 1999 Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora has taken the role of coordinator of the course from 2004 to 2006 and, again, from 2016 to 2018. Since 1995, as researcher at the national network Urbanismo.br has organised the UFJF Urbanismo.mg research group in 2005. The group develops teaching, research and extension activities in the cities of the state of Minas Gerais. In 2020, successfully defended Memorial entitled "Urbanism in Minas Gerais: Itineraries Through the Cities !!!"having been promoted to Full Professor. Between 2011 and 2012 he developed a Postdoctoral Internship at Università IUAV di Venezia with the support of CAPES. The activities of the research group follow the perspective of internationalisation that way in terms of cooperation. In this sense, specific research work has been developed with interlocutors linked to Aalto University as well as the Alvar Aalto Foundation in Helsinki, Finland. The interest is focused on the following themes: Foundations of Architecture and Urbanism, History of Urbanism, Memory and Cultural Heritage and Urban Design with the support of the following institutions, namely CNPq, CAPES and FAPEMIG.
Engenheiro arquiteto graduado, em 1989, pela Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - EAUFMG. Mestre em Arquitetura e Urbanismo, em 1994, pela Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal da Bahia - FAUFBA. Doutor em Arquitetura e Urbanismo, em 2003, pela Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo - FAUUSP. A partir de 1999, vinculado à Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora - FAUUFJF assumiu a função de coordenador do curso, no período de 2004 a 2006 e, novamente, entre 2016 a 2018. Desde 1995 atua como pesquisador vinculado à rede nacional Urbanismo.br, tendo organizado o grupo de pesquisa Urbanismo.mg da FAUUFJF em 2005. O grupo desenvolve atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão nas cidades do estado de Minas Gerais. Em 2020, defendeu o Memorial intitulado "Urbanismo em Minas Gerais: Itinerários Pelas Cidades !!!? tendo sido promovido a Professor Titular. Entre 2011 e 2012 desenvolveu Estágio Pós-doutoral na Università IUAV di Venezia com o apoio da CAPES. As atividades do grupo de pesquisa seguem na perspectiva da internacionalização, esta em termos de cooperações científicas. Neste sentido, têm sido desenvolvidos trabalhos específicos, com interlocutores ligados à Aalto University, bem como à Alvar Aalto Foundation, em Helsinki, na Finlandia. O interesse volta-se para os seguintes temas: Fundamentos da Arquitetura e do Urbanismo, Historia do Urbanismo, Memória e Patrimônio Cultural e Projeto Urbano, com o apoio das seguintes instituições, a saber, CNPq, CAPES e FAPEMIG.
