Manoel Campos da Silva Filho

I'm a Computer Science and Engineering PhD candidate at Universidade da Beira Interior (Portugal), working with computer-based simulation and resource optimisation in Cloud Computing environments. I'm the main developer of CloudSim Plus, a CloudSim fork for cloud computing simulation available at http://cloudsimplus.org. I have a master degree in Electrical Engineering at Universidade de Brasília (Brazil) in the area of applications and frameworks for Digital Television (DTV). As a result of my master thesis, I developed open source implementations of HTTP and SOAP protocols, a XML parser version for the Brazilian Digital Television System (ISDB-Tb) and a component library for development of interactive DTV applications. I have a degree in Data Processing Technology at Universidade do Tocantins (Brazil) where I worked with development of enterprise information systems. I am a professor at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Tocantins (Brazil), working on professional, higher education and specialisation courses since 2003. I am a software engineering with experience in several programming languages such as C, PHP, Java, NCL, Lua and Shell Script. I work with object oriented analysis, design and programming. I have experience with agile software development using processes such as Test Driven Development (TDD) in order to increase software quality. I?m always pursuing application of software engineering techniques such as Design Patterns, SOLID Principles, clean code and refactoring to provide not just software that works, but source code that everybody can understand and maintain. I?m a clean coder and open source enthusiast and I have used clean code principles intuitively before I was introduced to them.
