Licencieted in Philosophy (UPF) and Graduatet in Teology from Instituto Missioneiro de Teologia. Teacher at Faculdade Santo Ângelo (FASA) and at PLAGEDER/PGDR/UFRGS. Researcher on the Nucleo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (NESAN/UFRGS) and at the Teia de Articulação pelo Fortalecimento da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (TearSAN/UFSC). Member of the National Council of Food Security and Nutrition (CONSEA), ex-President of FIAN Brasil and FIAN International (Foodfirst Information & Action Network), ex-President of Popular Education Center (CEAP), Works as consultant at the following subjects: sociology, gramatical and ortographic revisor, spirituality, human rights, human right to adequate food, food sovernty, food securty and nutricion, rural development, family farm, social organizations, social moviments, planification and social analisis.

Pesquisador do Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (NESAN/UFRGS) e da Teia de Articulação pelo Fortalecimento da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (TearSAN/UFSC). Conselheiro do Conselho Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (CONSEA), membro do Conselho Consultivo da Rede Brasileira de Pesquisa em Soberania e Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (Rede PENSSAN), fundador e ex-presidente da FIAN Brasil, ex-presidente da FIAN Internacional (Foodfirst Information & Action Network) e ex-diretor presidente e educador popular do Centro de Educação e Assessoramento Popular (CEAP). É consultor e assessor, especialmente nos seguintes temas: sociologia, revisão ortográfica e gramatical, organização de textos acadêmicos, espiritualidade, direitos humanos, direito humano à alimentação adequada, soberania e segurança alimentar e nutricional, desenvolvimento rural, agricultura familiar, planejamento em geral e planos de segurança alimentar e nutricional, avaliação de projetos sociais, organizações e movimentos sociais, agricultura familiar, metodologia e análise da realidade.
