Graduado em Engenharia Elétrica - Modalidade Eletrônica - Departamento de Eletrônica e Sistemas UFPE (1988). Técnico em telecomunicações pela Escola Técnica Federal de Pernambuco (1984). Atualmente é Professor Titular do curso de Eletrônica e Telecomunicações do IFPE, estando vinculado a este desde 1986. Mestre na Área de Teoria da Informação do departamento de Eng. Elétrica da UFCG (2010). Doutor pela UFCG (2016), na área de segurança da informação, mas especificamente com "geração de chaves cripto-biométricas" utilizando biometria da íris e sistemas RFID. Tem experiência e interesse na área de Engenharia Elétrica, com ênfase em Eletrônica, Telecomunicações e Teoria da Informação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Sistemas de telefonia e telecomunicações, Sistemas de segurança, Sistemas cripto-biométricos com especial enfoque em biometria da íris e Sistemas RFID, IoT e Sistemas Embarcados.
