Flávio Luiz Mazzaro de Freitas

Flavio L. M. Freitas is an agronomist graduated by the agricultural college of University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP), holds a degree of master of science by KTH ? Royal Institute of Technology, where he is a PhD candidate currently. His research activities are mostly related to land use change and land use governance and related environmental and socioeconomic impacts. The research is particularly focused on agricultural expansion for production of food, fiber and bioenergy and its effects on natural ecosystems and ecosystems services. The research is primarily based on geographically explicit land use modeling and complex environmental process modeling.
