Rubens Moreira Rodrigues de Carvalho

Professor at the Department of Urbanism and the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF). Postdoctoral researcherat the Graduate Program in Geography - POSGEO/UFF (2020/Current). Ph.D. in Architecture and Urbanism from the Fluminense Federal University PPGAU/UFF (2017), with a Sandwich Program at the University Roma Tre - UNIROMA3, Italy (2016). Masters degree in Architecture and Urbanism ffrom the Federal Fluminense University - PPGAU/UFF (2009). Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal Fluminense University - EAU/UFF (2005), with an exchange period at the University of Seville - US/ETSA, Spain (2002/2003). Previous teaching and research experiences in Architecture and Urbanism at the School of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design of Estácio de Sá University (2020/2021), substitute professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal Fluminense University (2019/2020), and at the Architecture and Urbanism course of Centro Universitário Plínio Leite (2010/2014). Worked as an Architect and Urbanist at the City of Rio de Janeiro (2013/2022), in the General Coordination of Planning and Projects of the Municipal Urban Planning Secretariat; at Fiocruz (2007/2012), in the planning and historical and cultural heritage area; and at the Municipality of Niterói (2005/2006), in the urban planning and land regularization area. Areas of expertise and interest: urban and regional planning; urbanism theory and design; urban geography; urban policy; geoprocessing and thematic cartography; urban ecology and ecological urbanism; local identity and cultural heritage.

Experiências anteriores na docência como professor da Escola de Arquitetura, Urbanismo e Design da Universidade Estácio de Sá (2020/2021), professor substituto na Escola de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal Fluminense (2019/2020) e professor do curso de Arquitetura e Urbanismo do Centro Universitário Plínio Leite (2010/2014). Atuou como Arquiteto e Urbanista na Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro (2013/2022), na Coordenadoria Geral de Planejamento e Projetos da Secretaria Municipal de Planejamento Urbano; na Fiocruz (2007/2012), na área de planejamento e patrimônio histórico e cultural; e na Prefeitura Municipal de Niterói (2005/2006), na área de planejamento urbano e regularização fundiária.
