Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (1987), Master's (1991) and Doctorate (1997) in Morphology - Cell Biology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (USP). Specialist in Institutional Evaluation (2004) from the University of Brasília (UNB). Fellow Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research - FAIMER BRASIL 2015 Specialist in Teaching Development for Health Profession Educators from the Federal University of Ceará (2017). He has been a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto since 1988, having worked for 32 years in the areas of Cellular and Tissue Biology and Histology. In 2013 he assumed the Coordination of the Medicine Course at the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto (FAMERP) and completely focused on the area of medical education. He remained in this role for 4 years and from then on expanded his area of interest to education for the health professions with intense activity in guiding research projects at the scientific initiation (CI) level. He was Director of the São Paulo Regional of the Brazilian Association of Medical Education (ABEM), for the 2018-2020 term, until 05/31/2020. From 2017 he joined, as a researcher, the Center for Studies and Development of Health Education at FAMERP (CEDES-FAMERP). Leader of the Research Group STUDIES, TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN HEALTH, in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil - LATTES of CNPq, since 2020. His areas of research are: EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT, ASSESSMENT IN EDUCATION FOR THE HEALTH PROFESSIONS, HUMANISTIC SKILLS IN HEALTH PROFESSIONS, INTERFACE BETWEEN SOCIAL SCIENCES AND MEDICINE, TEACHING-LEARNING METHODS, QUALITY OF LIFE AND MENTAL HEALTH OF STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE HEALTH AREA, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF EDUCATIONAL AND E-HEALTH INSTITUTIONS, MOBILE LEARNING AND MICRO- LEARNING. Accredited in the Strictu Sensu Graduate Programs in Health Sciences and Nursing at FAMERP. Postdoctoral Fellow at the Medical Education Unit of the Medical School of the University of Minho, in Portugal, since 2021.

Á partir de 2017 passou a integrar, como pesquisador, o Centro de Estudos e Desenvolvimento de Educação em Saúde da FAMERP (CEDES - FAMERP). Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa ESTUDOS, FORMAÇÃO E DESENVOLVIMENTO EDUCACIONAL NA SAÚDE, no Diretório dos Grupos de Pesquisa no Brasil - LATTES do CNPq, desde 2020. Suas áreas de pesquisa são: AMBIENTE EDUCACIONAL, AVALIAÇÃO EM EDUCAÇÃO PARA AS PROFISSÕES DA SAÚDE, COMPETÊNCIAS HUMANÍSTICAS NAS PROFISSÕES DA SAÚDE, INTERFACE DAS CIÊNCIAS SOCIAIS COM A MEDICINA, MÉTODOS DE ENSINO-APRENDIZAGEM, QUALIDADE DE VIDA E SAÚDE MENTAL DE ESTUDANTES E PROFISSIONAIS DA ÁREA DA SAÚDE, RESPONSABILIDADE SOCIAL DAS INSTITUIÇÕES DE ENSINO e E-SAÚDE, APRENDIZAGEM MÓVEL E MICRO-APRENDIZAGEM. Credenciado nos programas de Pós-Graduação Strictu Sensu em Ciências da Saúde e Enfermagem da FAMERP. Fellow de Pós-Doutorado na Unidade de Educação Médica da Escola de Medicina da Universidade do Minho, em Portugal, desde 2021.
