Rafael Dias de Melo

Biologist and master in Development and Environment graduated from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (2011 and 2015), specialist in Public Health by the School of Public Health of Ceará (2019). He is a collaborating member of the Núcleo Tramas (Trabalho, Ambiente e Saúde) of the Community Health Department at UFC and professor at the School of Public Health of Ceará (ESP-CE), where he coordinates the Multiprofessional Residency in Public Health. He has experience working in research and popular education projects in health and the environment with social movements and rural communities. It integrates the research lines "Development, Environmental Injustice and Health: the case of Uranium and Phosphate Mining in Ceará" and "'Environmental and health equity: evaluation and promotion methodologies". The main subjects of study are: education and youth in the countryside; large enterprises, environment, health and environmental conflicts; environmental licensing; vulnerability processes; environmental justice; environmental impacts of mining and nuclear energy. He is a member of the Brazilian Environmental Justice Network (RBJA).

Biólogo Sanitarista, especialista em Saúde Coletiva na modalidade Residência Integrada em Saúde (2019) pela Escola de Saúde Pública do Ceará; mestre em Desenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente (2015) pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC); e graduado em Ciências Biológicas pela mesma Universidade (2011). É estudante do Doutorado Acadêmico no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Pública da UFC. Atua como pesquisador colaborador do Núcleo Tramas (Trabalho, Ambiente e Saúde) do Departamento de Saúde Comunitária da UFC e professor da Secretaria da Educação do Estado do Ceará (SEDUC-CE). Tem experiência de atuação em projetos de pesquisa e educação popular em saúde e ambiente com movimentos sociais e comunidades camponesas.
