Carina Baptiston Tanaka

Dr. Carina B. Tanaka is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). She completed her D.D.S. and a Ph.D. degree in Dental Biomaterial at the University of Sao Paulo in 2010 and 2015, respectively. In 2013 she was a visiting scholar at Biomaterials & Biomimetics Department in the College of Dentistry at New York University, which was supported by Science without Borders scholarship, funded by the Brazilian federal government. As a result of her successful job performance, she was granted with four months extension at NYU with a position of Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetic. Her research focuses on the mechanical behavior of dental ceramics. Her research topics include understanding the mechanisms of fracture of brittle materials and finite element analysis of dental structures.
New York University - College of Dentistry (8/2013 a 7/2014 - Bolsa PSDE/ CAPES) . Atualmente é pós-doutoranda da School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering na UNSW-Sydney.
