Jefferson Stafusa Elias Portela

Doutor em Ciências pelo Instituto de Física da USP (2008) e bacharel em Física pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2002), com estágios de pós-doutoramento nos institutos alemães Max Planck e Fraunhofer. Atuou como Professor Adjunto na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná e atualmente é pesquisador na Universidade de Würzburg, Alemanha. Tem interesses de pesquisa nas áreas de Dinâmica Não-linear e Caos, Física de Plasmas, Mecânica Estatística e Física do Estado Sólido.

I obtained a bachelor?s degree in Physics at the University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil, and my PhD at the University of São Paulo (USP), also in Brazil. I?ve been a visiting scholar at the Institute for Fusion Studies of the University of Texas at Austin (USA) and often at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPIPKS) in Dresden, Germany. I?ve held research or faculty positions at: the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern, Germany; the Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in Pato Branco, Brazil; and the University of Würzburg, in Germany, my current position. My main research topics are nonlinear dynamics/chaos theory, statistical physics and their applications.
