Rodrigo Gester has a degree and a master's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Pará and a doctorate from the University of São Paulo. His expertise is in the use of Many-Body Quantum Theory and Computational Simulation methods, with emphasis on the study of solvent effects on structural properties (vibrational and nuclear magnetic), reactivity, and linear and nonlinear optical parameters of molecular systems of chemical interest and biological. Professor Gester is also interested in electronic transport in nanostructured systems and works by developing essential electronic components, such as rectifier diodes and field effect transistors, using the Density Functional Theory associated with the Out of Balance Green Functions.
Rodrigo Gester é licenciado e mestre em Física pela Universidade Federal do Pará e doutor pela Universidade de São Paulo. Tem interesse sobre o modo como interações intermoleculares em meio líquido podem afetar e aprimorar propriedades de interesse, como os espectros de excitação eletrônica, parâmetros magnéticos nucleares, bem como o comportamento óptico não-linear de cromóforos orgânicos solvatados, como chalconas e outras tinturas, sinalizando novas aplicações.
