Andrea Eichenberger

Artista visual e antropóloga. Graduada em Artes Plásticas pela UDESC (2002), Mestre em Etnologia (visual) pela Université Paris Diderot (2005) e Doutora em Antropologia (visual) pela Université Paris Diderot - Paris VII - Sorbonne Paris Cité, em cotutela internacional de tese com a UFSC (2011). Realizou estágio pós-doutoral em Historia da Arte (fotografia) na Université Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne e estágio pós-doutoral Capes/Nuffic em Antropologia Social na VU University Amsterdam. Atua em projetos artísticos e de pesquisa vinculados aos grupos: Núcleo de Antropologia Audiovisual e Estudos da Imagem (NAVI)/ UFSC e Poéticas do Urbano CEART/UDESC. Leciona atualmente na Ecole Supérieure d'Art et de Design d'Orléans e é secretaria geral da Association de Recherche et Production d'Images en Anthropologie et Art (ARPIA). Recebeu o Prêmio Funarte Mulheres nas Artes Visuais, em 2013, o Prêmio de fotografia UPP Découverte, em 2012 e o prêmio de melhor narrativa fotográfica do Seminário Internacional Fazendo Gênero, em 2006. Atua principalmente com fotografia, explorando suas relações com a Arte e a Antropologia.

Visual Artist and Anthropologist. She graduated in Visual Arts at UDESC (2002), Brazil. She did a Master?s degree in Ethnology at the Université Paris Diderot (2005). She did a joint PhD programme in Social Anthropology at Université Paris Diderot - Paris VII and at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC (2011), during which she worked on images and resistance with regard to the indigenous context in Brazil, related to the specific case of the Guarani. After her thesis, she conducted a post-doctoral research in the History of Art at the Université Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne (2013), addressing questions about the relationship between Art and Anthropology. This research focused on a personal visual project about the insecurity problems of the city. She is developing her artistic and research projects linked to the groups: Group of Visual Anthropology and Images Studies (NAVI) / UFSC and Urban Poetics at the Art Center of UDESC. She is general secretary of the ARPIA (Association of Production and Research in Anthropology and Art). She is also a member of ABA (Brazilian Association of Anthropology). She works mainly on the following topics: photography and its documentary and political character, image as conceptual representation, image related to memory and people?s environment.
