Carlos Henrique Costa Guimarães

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from UFF ? Fluminense Federal University (1975), Master (1980) and Ph.D. (2003) in Electrical Engineering, both from COPPE/UFRJ ? Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Postgraduate Studies and Research in Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He worked as an engineer at Light ? Serviços de Eletricidade SA for 10 years (1975 to 1985), as a researcher at the Electric Energy Research Center ? CEPEL, a company of the Eletrobras Group, for 15 years (1985 to 2000) and as a consultant for the National Operator of the Electric System ? ONS, for 6 years (2000 to 2006). Full Professor Retired by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the School of Engineering of Universidade Federal Fluminense (1979 to 2016). He has experience in the field of Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Electrical Power Systems, working mainly in the following areas: static and dynamic simulation of electrical power systems, modeling of its components, control and automation of power systems and stability of electrical systems in short, medium and long term. In addition to being Professor of several disciplines, he also held the functions of Coordinator of the Graduate Course in Electrical Engineering (1989 to 2003) and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Engineering School of Universidade Federal Fluminense (2010 to 2016). He is also the author of 3 books: Numbering Systems ? Application in Digital Computers, Electric Power Systems and their Main Components and Control Theory and its applications.

Instituto Alberto Luiz Coimbra de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa de Engenharia da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Trabalhou como engenheiro da Light ? Serviços de Eletricidade S.A. por 10 anos (1975 a 1985), como pesquisador do Centro de Pesquisas de Energia Elétrica ? CEPEL, empresa do Grupo Eletrobras, por 15 anos (1985 a 2000) e como consultor do Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico ? ONS, por 6 anos (2000 a 2006). Professor Titular Aposentado pelo Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Federal Fluminense (1979 a 2016). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Elétrica, com ênfase em Sistemas Elétricos de Potência, atuando principalmente nas seguintes áreas: simulação estática e dinâmica de sistemas elétricos de potência, modelagem de seus componentes, controle e automação de sistemas de potência e estabilidade de sistemas elétricos em curto, médio e longo termo. Além de ter sido Professor de diversas disciplinas, também ocupou as funções de Coordenador do Curso de Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica (1989 a 2003) e de Chefe do Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Federal Fluminense (2010 a 2016). Também é autor de 3 livros: Sistemas de Numeração ? Aplicação em Computadores Digitais, Sistemas Elétricos de Potência e seus Principais Componentes e Teoria de Controle e suas aplicações.
