Cristiano dos Santos Rodrigues

Cristiano Rodrigues - Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Collaborating Professor at the Graduate Program in Political Science at UFMG (PPGCP-UFMG). He has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ) and was a visiting fellow in the Department of Sociology and the Center for Gender and Sexuality Education at San Francisco State University.Researcher at MARGEM - Research Group on Democracy and Justice, NEPEM - Center for Studies and Research on Women and the Research Network on Feminisms and Politics. Prof. Rodrigues is currently developing two research projects. The first, entitled "Social movements and public policies in the context of crisis: political, institutional and social consequences," coordinated by Prof. Dr. Euzeneia Carlos, aims to understand how the dedemocratization process underway in the country has driven, between 2016 and 2022, changes in civil society activism and public policies influenced by social movements at the federal and state level. His second research project, "Race and political career paths in Latin America," ​​analyzes legislators' careers and political trajectories in 17 Latin American countries in the las two decades, focusing on racial differences. His research interests are in the following areas: race, ethnicity and politics, social movements, ethnic-racial minorities' political representation in Latin America, feminist political theory, and Black feminist thought.

Cristiano Rodrigues - Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Ciência Política da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e Professor Colaborador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência Política da UFMG (PPGCP-UFMG). Doutor em Sociologia pelo Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ). Foi pesquisador visitante do Departamento de Sociologia e do Centro de Educação em Gênero e Sexualidade da San Francisco State University. Pesquisador do MARGEM - Grupo de Pesquisa em Democracia e Justiça, NEPEM - Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre a Mulher (ambos vinculados ao PPGCP-UFMG) e da Rede de Pesquisas em Feminismos e Política. Prof. Rodrigues desenvolve atualmente duas pesquisas. A primeira, intitulada "Movimentos sociais e políticas públicas no contexto de crise: consequências políticas, institucionais e sociais?, visa compreender como o processo de desdemocratização em curso no país impulsionou, entre 2016 e 2022, mudanças no ativismo da sociedade civil e em políticas públicas influenciadas por movimentos sociais em nível federal e estadual. Seu segundo projeto de pesquisa "Race and political career paths in Latin America" analisa as carreiras e trajetórias políticas dos legisladores em 17 países da América Latina nas ultimas duas décadas, com um particular foco nas diferenças raciais. Seus interesses de pesquisas se concentram nas seguintes áreas: raça, etnicidade e política, movimentos sociais, representação política de minorias étnico-raciais na América Latina, teoria política feminista, pensamento feminista negro.
