Ana Gabriela Mendes Braga

Ana Gabriela M. Braga completed post-doctoral studies at the Center for Anthropology Research Network (CRIA - UMinho) and at the University in Brasilia (UnB). Master and PhD in Criminal Law and Criminology from the University of São Paulo (USP) with a period at the Department of Anthropology of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Professor of Law at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of UNESP-Franca. Coordinator of NEPAL (Center for Studies and Research in Imprisonment and Freedoms) and the C.E.L. Extension project (Prison, Expression and Freedom). Former director, and currently associate, of the Empirical Research Network in Law (REED). She has experience in empirical research in law, criminal justice system and gender studies; as well as in the coordination of research teams and extension projects. Author of "Imprisoned by the state and watched for crime - the laws of imprisonment and the construction of identity in prison" (2013) and co-author of "Giving birth in the shadow: exercise of motherhood in prison" (2019).

Ana Gabriela M. Braga realizou pós-doutorados junto ao Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA - UMinho) e à Universidade em Brasília (UnB). Mestra e doutora em Direito Penal e Criminologia pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) com período sanduíche junto ao Departamento de Antropologia da Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Visiting scholar no Oñati International Institute for the Sociology of Law (IISL). Professora da Graduação e Pós-Graduação em Direito na Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais da Universidade Estadual Paulista (FCHS- UNESP- Franca), onde exerce a chefia do Departamento de Direito Público. Coordenadora do NEPAL (Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Aprisionamentos e Liberdades) e do projeto de Extensão C.E.L. (Cárcere, Expressão e Liberdade).
