Maria Lucia Bressan Pinheiro

Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (1980), where she obtained the title of Master (1989) and Ph.d. (1997) in History of Brazilian Architecture. Architect of CONDEPHAAT- Council for the Defense of the Historical, Archeological, Artistic and Touristic Heritage of the State of São Paulo (1982-1993); during this period, she had a CAPES/FULBRIGHT/LASPAU Scholarship in Preservation and Dissemination of Cultures to do an internship within the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in New York, USA, (1986). She is currently Associated Professor of the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo. She was also Director of the Center for Cultural Preservation of the University of São Paulo (2006-2010); researcher at USP Center for Research Support ?Platform São Paulo: City, space, memory? (NAP-SP), between 2012-2017; General Coordinator of the project "A Conservation Management Plan for Vilanova Artigas Building ", sponsored by the Getty Foundation through the Keeping it Modern program (2015-2017). She has experience in the field of Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on History and Preservation of Brazilian Architecture, working mainly on the following subjects: history of brazilian architecture and preservation of cultural heritage. CNPq Productivity Scholar since 2013.

Graduou-se em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de São Paulo (1980), instituição onde obteve o título de mestrado (1989) e doutorado (1997) em história da arquitetura brasileira. Foi arquiteta do CONDEPHAAT ? Conselho de Defesa do Patrimônio Histórico, Arqueológico, Artístico e Turístico do Estado de São Paulo (1982-1993); realizou estágio técnico na New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, em Nova Iorque, EUA, em 1986, com bolsa do Programa de Preservação e Disseminação de Culturas CAPES/FULBRIGHT/LASPAU. Atualmente é professora doutora associada da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo; foi diretora do Centro de Preservação Cultural-CPC da USP de junho/2006 a abril/2010. Foi pesquisadora do Núcleo de Apoio à Pesquisa Plataforma São Paulo: Cidade, Espaço, Memória (NAP-SP), entre 2012-2017. Coordenou o projeto ?Plano de Gestão de Conservação para o Edifício Vilanova Artigas?, patrocinado pela Fundação Getty através do programa Keeping it Modern (2015-2017). Tem experiência na área de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, com ênfase em História e Preservação da Arquitetura Brasileira, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: história da arquitetura brasileira e preservação do patrimônio cultural. É bolsista produtividade CNPq (nível II) desde 2013.
