Marcos Renato de Assis

Marcos Renato de Assis has a degree in medicine (1993); residency in internal medicine and rheumatology (1997) and specialization in allergology (1997) at University of São Paulo; and specialization in physical medicine & rehabilitation (2000) and in Chinese medicine - acupuncture (2001) at Federal University of São Paulo, where he was certified as the PhD in the Sciences Rehabilitation Program (2003). He is currently the Editor-in-chief of Advances in Rheumatology (official scientific journal of the Brazilian Society of Rheumatology - SBR); member of the Committee of Pain, Fibromyalgia and Soft Tissue Rheumatisms of the SBR; member of the Committee of Rehabilitation of the SBR; Professor of Rheumatology at Marília Medical School; Professor at Assis Medical School. He served as Senior Teaching Assistant at the distance learning course Principles and Practice of Clinical Research at Harvard Medical School; as associate professor of the Sarah Center for Training and Research; and as a mentor of the Academic Master's in Health and Aging. His interests are pain, fibromyalgia, spondyloarthritis, tools validation, distance learning, rheumatoid arthritis, with researches in falls, metabolic syndrome, physical fitness, and mood. He has expertise in medicine, with emphasis on rehabilitation, mainly in the following areas: internal medicine, rheumatology, rehabilitation, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, spine, spondyloarthritis, tools validation, and distance learning.

Marcos Renato de Assis possui Graduação em Medicina (1993); Residência em Clínica Médica e Reumatologia (1997); Especialização em Alergologia (1997) pela Universidade de São Paulo; Especialização em Fisiatria (2000) e em Medicina Chinesa - Acupuntura (2001) pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo, onde foi certificado como Doutor em Ciências pelo Programa de Reabilitação (2003). Atualmente é Editor-chefe da Advances in Rheumatology (revista científica oficial da Sociedade Brasileira de Reumatologia); membro da Comissão de Dor, Fibromialgia e Reumatismo de Partes Moles da SBR; membro da Comissão de Reabilitação da SBR; Docente de Reumatologia da Faculdade de Medicina de Marília; Professor da Faculdade de Medicina de Assis. Atuou como Professor Assistente Sênior do Curso à Distância Principles and Practice of Clinical Research da Harvard Medical School; como Docente Colaborador do Centro Sarah de Formação e Pesquisa; e foi docente fundador do Mestrado Acadêmico em Saúde e Envelhecimento. Tem interesse em dor, fibromialgia, espondiloartrite, validação de instrumentos, aprendizado à distância e artrite reumatoide com pesquisas a respeito de quedas, síndrome metabólica, aptidão física e humor. Tem experiência na área de medicina, com ênfase em reabilitação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: clínica médica, reumatologia, reabilitação, fibromialgia, artrite reumatoide, coluna vertebral, espondiloartrite, validação de instrumentos e ensino a distância.
