Marianne Araujo Soares

Graduada em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG) em 2013, Mestre em Entomologia pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) em 2015 e Doutora em Entomologia também pela Universidade Federal de Lavras em 2019. Durante o doutorado, desenvolveu parte de seu estudo no Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) na França. Sua tese de doutorado teve como objetivo identificar novas táticas para o controle da traça-do-tomateiro (Tuta absoluta) por meio do uso de predadores da família Miridae em compatibilidade com inseticidas. Atualmente, está realizando pesquisas na área de resistência de plantas na Embrapa Agroenergia, com foco na seleção de plantas geneticamente modificadas resistentes ao bicudo-da-cana e broca-da-cana, com o objetivo de obter plantas de cana-de-açúcar resistentes a insetos-praga. Além disso, possui colaboração e co-autoria em trabalhos com pesquisadores brasileiros de grande expressão científica, bem como estudos em parceria com pesquisadores de países como Estados Unidos, Holanda, México, França e Itália. Tem interesse no desenvolvimento de estudos na área de Manejo Integrado de Pragas (MIP).

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) in 2013, Master's in Entomology from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) in 2015, and Doctorate in Entomology also from the Federal University of Lavras in 2019. During her doctorate, she developed part of her study at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA) in France. Her doctoral thesis aimed to identify new tactics for the control of the tomato leafminer (Tuta absoluta) through the use of predators from the Miridae family in compatibility with insecticides. Currently, she is conducting research in the field of plant resistance at Embrapa Agroenergy, focusing on the selection of genetically modified plants resistant to sugarcane weevil and sugarcane borer, with the aim of obtaining sugarcane plants resistant to insect pests. In addition, she has collaborated and co-authored works with Brazilian researchers of great scientific expression, as well as studies in partnership with researchers from countries such as the United States, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, and Italy. She has an interest in developing studies in the field of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
