Doutor em Letras - Literaturas de Língua Inglesa na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), com Doutorado Sanduíche na University of Georgia (em premiação Fulbright/CAPES). Mestre em Letras - Literatura Comparada também pela UFRGS, e Licenciado em Letras - Inglês pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel).
Professor at the Federal University of Bahia, PhD in Anglophone Literatures at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Editor of journal PHILIA | Philosophy, Literature & Art. He had a visiting scholar sojourn at the University of Georgia, a grant given as an award at a Fulbright Commission and CAPES joint selection. Lauro has completed his Master's Degree in Comparative Literature also at UFRGS, and is an English graduate from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel). He works with teaching English as a foreign language and literature, and has a background of research on Brazilian contemporary literature, English-written literatures, mainly modern and contemporary, and Comparative Literature. He is also active as a translator and proofreader. In his researches, Lauro focuses mainly on intermedial relations developed by literature along with other media, namely literature-music, and literature-sound media.
