Cíntia Medina de Souza

Graduada em História pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo (FFLCH-USP). Mestre em História Social pela mesma instituição com auxílio da Bolsa Fapesp. Realizou estágios no Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (IEB-USP), no Grupo de Políticas Públicas para Acesso à Informação (G-POPAI / USP), onde pesquisou sobre acesso a bens culturais no Brasil. Investigou sobre a história da regulamentação do mercado de livros inglês, entre os séculos XV e XVIII, e sobre a gênese do direito do autor na Inglaterra no século XVIII. Concentra-se na pesquisa dos objetos culturais e seu papel na investigação da sociedade capitalista, isto é, em sua função de captar as transformações sociais provocadas pelas constantes crises econômicas inerentes à própria lógica do capital. Atualmente, está no doutorado, pela mesma instituição, onde pesquisa o papel da filmografia do diretor britânico em apreender as principais mudanças efetuadas pelas crises do capital a partir do período de reestruturação neoliberal implementada pelo governo de Margareth Thatcher e seus sucessores. Por consequentemente como seus filmes dissertam sobre a real característica do capitalismo em tempos de globalização.

Undergraduation in History from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP). Master in Social History from the same institution and with a schoolarship granted by Fapesp. Internship at the Institute of Brazilian Studies (IEB-USP) acting in the archival reserach. And with acting as researcher at the Public Policies for Access to Information Group (G-POPAI / USP), investigating cultural goods in Brazil. In the master degree, investigated the history of the regulation of the English book market, between the 15th and 18th centuries, and the genesis of copyright in England in the 18th century. After that, focused on the research of cultural objects and their role in the investigation of capitalist society, that is, in its function of capturing the social transformations provoked by the constant economic crises inherent to the very logic of capital. Currently, attending doctorate at the same institution and investiganting the role of the filmography of the British director Ken Loach in capturing the main changes brought about by the crises of capital from the period of neoliberal restructuring implemented by the government of Margareth Thatcher and her successors. And how some of his films talks about of the real feature of capitalism in the globalization times.
