Pedro Libanio Ribeiro de Carvalho

Em 2023, com o projeto Discursos e modernidade: representações do indígena e do caboclo no Centenário da Independência (1910-1930), ganha bolsa do Programa de Incentivo à Produção do Conhecimento Técnico e Científico da Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa (FCRB). Em 2019, ingressou no pós-doutoramento no Museu de Arqueologia e Etnografia da Universidade de São Paulo (MAE/USP) no qual pesquisa a transformação da antropologia brasileira por meio das descrições dos objetos indígenas nos Livros de Tombo do Setor de Etnologia e Etnografia do Museu Nacional (RJ) no início do século XX, vinculado ao projeto Museu universitário e museu indígena - usos e acessos às coleções indígenas: novos desafios para os museus (CNPq - Processo 407599 / 2018-5). Ainda em 2019 começa a atuar também como parecerista do Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Sob coordenação do Prof. Dr. José Ribamar Bessa Freire, é pesquisador da linha de Pesquisa Oralidade, Literatura e Etnossaberes, pertencente ao grupo pesquisa Memória, Cultura e Patrimônio, vinculado à Unirio e liderado pela Profa. Dra. Regina Abreu. Sob coordenação da Profa. Dra. Marília Xavier Cury, participa como pesquisador do grupo de estudos InterMuseologias (Laboratório Interfaces entre Museologias: Comunicação, Mediação, Públicos e Recepção) da Universidade de São Paulo. Graduado em Comunicação Social (1999), foi bolsista de produtividade da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes) no Mestrado (2013) e no Doutorado (2017) em Memória Social pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (PPGMS/Unirio). Centra sua produção acadêmica nas áreas de história e patrimônio, com dedicação aos temas ligados à formação da identidade brasileira e à observação da inserção efetiva do indígena na identidade brasileira por meio da formação de coleções etnográficas no Museu Nacional durante o período da Primeira República (1889-1930). Estuda as expedições da Comissão de Linhas Telegráficas Estratégicas do Mato Grosso ao Amazonas (1907-1915), chefiadas por Candido Rondon, militar que deu origem ao nome de Comissão Rondon, e a viagem de Edgard Roquette-Pinto à Serra do Norte (1912). Dedica-se a estabelecer relações entre a Comissão Rondon, o Museu Nacional e a imprensa e, nesse contexto, trabalha tais instituições como meios de memória e analisa de que forma práticas, etnossaberes e objetos foram construídos enquanto patrimônio e como este foi elaborado e posteriormente divulgado sob a forma de coleções por meio da imprensa. Atua com pesquisa histórica e iconográfica, tradução, redação, edição e revisão de textos. Possui experiência profissional nas áreas de edição de livros e obras de referência.

In 2023, with the project Discourses and modernity: representations of the indigenous and the caboclo in the Centenary of Independence (1910-1930), he wins a scholarship from the Incentive Program for the Production of Technical and Scientific Knowledge of the Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation (FCRB) . In 2022, he acts as a reviewer for the journal Museologia Interdisciplinaridade linked to the Graduate Program in Information Science at the University of Brasília. In 2019, he joined the post-doctorate at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of the University of São Paulo (MAE/USP) in which he researches the transformation of Brazilian anthropology through the descriptions of indigenous objects in the Tombo Books of the Ethnology and Ethnography Sector of the National Museum (RJ) in the early 20th century, linked to the project University museum and indigenous museum - uses and access to indigenous collections: new challenges for museums (CNPq - Process 407599 / 2018-5). In 2019, he also began to act as a reviewer for the Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Under the coordination of Prof. doctor José Ribamar Bessa Freire, is a researcher in the research line Orality, Literature and Ethnosaberes, belonging to the research group Memory, Culture and Heritage, linked to Unirio and led by Profa. Dr. Regina Abreu. Under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Marília Xavier Cury participates as a researcher in the InterMuseologias study group (Laboratory Interfaces between Museologies: Communication, Mediation, Audiences and Reception) at the University of São Paulo.Graduated in Social Communication (1999), he received a productivity scholarship from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) in the Master's (2013) and Doctorate (2017) in Social Memory at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PPGMS/ Unirio). His academic production focuses on the areas of history and heritage, with dedication to themes related to the formation of the Brazilian identity and the observation of the effective insertion of the indigenous in the Brazilian identity through the formation of ethnographic collections in the National Museum during the period of the First Republic (1889 -1930). He studies the expeditions of the Commission of Strategic Telegraph Lines from Mato Grosso to the Amazon (1907-1915), led by Candido Rondon, a military man who gave rise to the name of the Rondon Commission, and Edgard Roquette-Pinto's trip to Serra do Norte (1912 ). It is dedicated to establishing relationships between the Rondon Commission, the National Museum and the press and, in this context, works with such institutions as means of memory and analyzes how practices, ethnos-knowledge and objects were constructed as heritage and how this was elaborated and subsequently disseminated in the form of collections through the press. He works with historical and iconographic research, translation, writing, editing and proofreading texts. He has professional experience in the areas of editing books and reference works.
