Fabiano Mocellin
Fabiano Mocellin was Graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and obtained his Master Degree in 2002 in a project developed in partnership with the Company Tupy S.A., for the improvement of machinability of Compacted Graphite Iron alloy, before this material was applied by the first time worldwide for series production of engine blocks. Started at Tupy in 2002 as Product and Quality Engineer, while was studying his Doctorate. In 2005 moved to Germany for the development of his Doctorate in a project associating the Company Tupy, UFSC, the Institut für Produktionsmanagement, Technologie und Werkzeugmaschinen from T.U. Darmstadt and the Company Nagel, world leader of honing tools and machines. The Doctorate developed a process for honing of Compacted Graphite Iron engine cylinder bores using an innovative strategy of high stock material removal rates, allowing the reduction of manufacturing production steps. From 2006 to 2012 worked at Tupy as Project Coordinator for the implementation of new engine blocks and heads machining lines. From 2013 to 2021 was Production Manager of the Machining Area. During this period, Tupy expanded his machining facilities to Mexico, building from a green field a plant with approximate 400 people, additional to the approximate 1000 employees at the machining plant in Joinville. His team also developed an innovative concept of flexible machining lines that is being applied in new projects since then. Currently he is Corporate Manager of Machining Engineering at Tupy. Experience in the area of Mechanical Engineering, focused on: machining, machinability of cast iron, drilling, honing.
