Sandra Beatriz Méndez Torres

She is a PhD student at the Literacy and Communication Center of the Federal University of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil. The research object for the doctoral thesis refers in essence to the possibility of adding value in the life of the student, through the re-signification of the foreign language school curriculum, in a border context. It has to do with innovation in the field of Linguistic Education, in contact with the scientificity of Critical Applied Linguistics and with the use of assumptions and methodologies of other disciplines, that dialogue for collaborative construction in the teaching process in the municipal public network. The specific work of the thesis seeks mainly to link the study of language with the language of pedagogical practices of development of skills and problem solving of its school communities. In addition to studying the language in use, it seeks to awaken talents in the human being that the student is, for the benefit of his self-knowledge and conscious connection with the world. Master in Letters - Research Area: Applied Linguistics - Acquisition and Teaching of Foreign Languages ​​by the Catholic University of Pelotas. Graduated in Letters: Full Degree Spanish, Portuguese and English at UCPEL. Bachelor in Diversity in Humanistic Sciences, Dpto Rocha - Uruguay. Basic Training - Uruguay. She´s trilingual, with Certificate of Proficiency CELPEBRAS in Portuguese for Foreigners of SESU, Ministry of Education and Certificate of Competency in English as a Second Language by The University of Michigan, Brazil. She is a facilitator and Thinker in Thinking Design for Educators and associated to the network of facilitators of the Educadigital Institute, São Paulo. Leader Coach for Coaching Express - Condor Blanco, Chile / Brazil and certified in the course of Development and Leadership by the National Institute of Human Excellence - RS, Brazil. Mentor of the Serie2030 project / company, offering an Educational Innovation Service articulated with the Incheon Declaration and Framework of Action for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Objective 4: "Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Lifelong Learning Education" - UNESCO, becoming the profile of "teacherpreneur", as an entrepreneurial teacher, from actions in Linguistic Education for several areas of action in local and global context.

É graduada em Letras - Habilitação Português/Inglês e Português/Espanhol pela Universidade Católica de Pelotas. Cursou o Mestrado também na UCPel. Atualmente possui Doutorado em Letras - Linguística Aplicada (Texto, Discurso e Relações Sociais) pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul - Brasil (2021). Durante o desenvolvimento da pesquisa e da tese doutoral problematizou o ensino da Língua Inglesa numa escola do extremo Sul, colocando em experimentação ferramentas de uso colaborativo para a construção de repertórios linguístico-discursivos identitarios da cultura daquele público específico. Esse trabalho tem a ver com inovação incremental no campo da Educação Linguística, vinculado à cientificidade da Lingüística Aplicada Crítica e com a utilização de metodologias criativas que se conectam e dialogam para a edificação do conhecimento, no processo de ensino/aprendizagem ativo. Sandra visa vincular os estudos em línguas com algumas práticas de construção de discursos e do desenvolvimento de competências e habilidades de resolução de problemas/desafios linguístico-discursivos de comunidades escolares com demandas de ressignificação no processo de letramento. É especialmente interessada por práticas pedagógicas capazes de despertar talentos no Ser humano que é o aluno, em benefício do autoconhecimento e da conexão virtual e presencial consciente do aluno com o mundo atual. Facilitadora em Design Thinking para Educadores (Educadigital); Líder Coach (Coaching Express) e certificada pelo curso de Desenvolvimento e Liderança do Instituto Nacional de Excelência Humana - RS, Brasil Sandra é responsável pelo Serviço de Inovação Educacional - SerIE2030, que opera articulado com a Declaração de Incheon e Marco de Ação para a implementação do Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável 4 na construção colaborativa de uma educação inclusiva e equitativa de aprendizagem ao longo da vida.
