Graduate of Physiology from the University of Sheffield, UK (1983) and PhD in Biophysics from The Oxford Research Unit Oxford (1987). Dr. Ward as a wide experience in Biophysics with emphasis on the structure/function relationships of proteins, with expertise in directed evolution of proteins, protein design and engineering of enzymes, nanotechnology and biotechnology.
Possui graduação em Fisiologia - University of Sheffield-UK (1983) e doutorado em Biofísica - The Oxford Research Unit Oxford-UK (1987). Fez pós-doutorado em Biologia Estrutural no European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, Alemanha (1987-1991) e Biologia Molecular no Institut fur Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Universitat Mainz, Alemnaha (1991-1993). Foi Professor Visitante no Departamento de Física, IBILCE-UNESP (1993-1996) e entrou na Universidade de São Paulo em 1996. Desde 2017 é Professor Titular no Departamento de Química-FFCLRP da Universidade de São Paulo (campus Ribeirão Preto). Tem experiência na área de Biofísica, com ênfase em Estrutura e Função de Proteínas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: evolução dirigida de proteínas, desenho e engenharia de enzimas, nanotecnologia e biotecnológica. Prof. Ward é bolsista de produtividade CNPq desde 1999, com nível atual 1C.
