Mônica Spadafora Ferreira

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo, with specialization in Clinical Analysis, master and PhD in Immunology, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo. She is currently a Research Scientist VI at Laboratory of Immunogenetics, Butantan Institute. She has experience in the area of Immunology, with emphasis in Cellular Immunology, Immunogenetics, Immunoparasitology and Transplant Immunology, especially in the following areas: inflammation and regulation of immune response. She studies the action of animal venoms in mice genetically selected for acute inflammatory response and the immune response in horses immunized with animal venoms. She colaborates on the Immunology in Schools Project, of the Platform for Teaching and Interaction with the Society of the Institute of Immunology Research. She has experience in waste management of health services and implementation of PGRS Currently, she also colaborates in the study of immune response in Covid-19.

Possui graduação em Farmácia e Bioquímica pela Universidade de São Paulo, com especialização em Análises Clínicas. Tem mestrado e doutorado em Imunologia pelo Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas da Universidade de São Paulo. Atualmente é Pesquisadora Científica VI do Laboratório de Imunogenética, do Instituto Butantan. Tem experiência na área de Imunologia, com ênfase em Imunologia Celular e Humoral, especialmente nos seguintes temas: inflamação e regulação da resposta imune. Estuda a ação de venenos animais em linhagens de camundongos geneticamente selecionados para resposta inflamatória aguda e a resposta imune celular em cavalos imunizados com venenos animais. Colabora no Projeto Imunologia nas Escolas, da Plataforma de Ensino e Interação com a Sociedade do iii-INCT - Instituto de Investigação em Imunologia. Tem experiência em gestão de resíduos de serviços de saúde e implantação do PGRS. Atualmente, colabora no estudo da resposta imune na Covid-19.
