Claudia Seldin

Claudia Seldin is an architect, urban theorist, planner and researcher. She was postdoc researcher and visiting junior professor at the Center for Metropolitan Studies of the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, with a fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung/CAPES (2019-2022). She was a postdoc researcher at the Graduate Program in Urbanism of UFRJ (2015-2019) with a FAPERJ fellowship. She was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2015-2017). She was the co-leader of the research lab "Culture, History and Urbanism" (GPCHU) (2004-2019). She has a cum laude Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism (2005) from UFRJ, a Master's Degree in Urbanism (2006) and a Ph.D. in Urbanism ( 2015) from the Graduate Program in Urbanism of UFRJ, both with collaboration periods at the Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, in Germany. She was the winner of the 2016 CAPES PhD Dissertation Prize in the category Architecture and Urbanism and of the VIII Milton Santos Prize for best article by the National Association of Graduate Research in Urban and Regional Planning (2017). She is the author of the book "Urban Images and Resistances: From Capitals of Culture to Creative Cities" (2017) and the co-editor of the book "Cultures and Resistances in the City" (2018). She has published articles in journals, book chapters and proceedings of scientific events nationally and internationally. She has professional experience in the development and coordination of architectural and urban design projects, in interdisciplinary research in the fields of Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Human Geography and Cultural Studies, and in advising graduate programs in the topic of research methodology.

Claudia Seldin é arquiteta, urbanista e pesquisadora. Foi pesquisadora de pós-doutorado e professora visitante júnior no Center for Metropolitan Studies da Technische Universität Berlin, na Alemanha, com uma bolsa da cooperação Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung/CAPES (2019-2022). Foi pesquisadora de pós-doutorado no PROURB/FAU-UFRJ com bolsa da FAPERJ (2015-2019). Foi professora substituta do Departamento de Urbanismo e Meio Ambiente (DPUR) da FAU-UFRJ (2015-2017). Foi co-líder do Grupo de Pesquisa "Cultura, História e Urbanismo" (GPCHU) (2004-2019). Possui graduação cum laude em Arquitetura e Urbanismo (2005) pela FAU-UFRJ, Mestrado (2008) e Doutorado em Urbanismo (2015), ambos cursados com bolsas integrais do CNPq no PROURB/FAU-UFRJ e com períodos sanduíche na Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik da Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, na Alemanha (bolsas DAAD e CAPES). Foi vencedora do Prêmio Capes de Teses 2016 na categoria "Arquitetura e Urbanismo" e do VIII Prêmio Milton Santos de artigos da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Planejamento Urbano e Regional - ANPUR (2017). É autora do livro "Imagens Urbanas e Resistências: Das Capitais de Cultura às Cidades Criativas" (2017) e organizadora do livro "Culturas e Resistências na Cidade" (2018). Publicou artigos em periódicos, livros e anais de eventos nacionais e internacionais. Possui experiência profissional na elaboração e coordenação de projetos arquitetônicos e urbanos e em pesquisa acadêmica interdisciplinar nos campos do Urbanismo, Planejamento Urbano e Regional, Geografia Humana e Estudos Culturais e na supervisão de metodologia de pesquisa para programas de pós-graduação.
