Thiago Leite Knittel

Graduated in Biological Sciences (Medical Modality) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2016) and a Master's degree from the State University of Campinas in genetics and molecular biology. He is currently a doctoral student in genetics and molecular biology at UNICAMP at the Laboratory of Aging Biology under the supervision of Dr. Marcelo Alves da Silva Mori with an internship at Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv - Israel) in the laboratory of the professor Oded Rechavi. Studies the regulation of protein expression of Dicer and the impact of this protein in determining the functional identity of adipocytes. He also studies tissue communication and epigenetic changes that occur in the context of caloric restriction in C. elegans. Has experience in Biochemistry, with focus on Molecular Biology, acting on the following subjects: Dicer, adipocytes, miRNAs, aging and caloric restriction.

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas (Modalidade Médica) pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2016) e título de mestrado pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas em genética e biologia molecular. Atualmente é aluno de doutorado em genética e biologia molecular na UNICAMP no Laboratório de Biologia do Envelhecimento sob orientação do Dr. Marcelo Alves da Silva Mori com estágio na Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv - Israel) no laboratório do professor Oded Rechavi. Estuda regulação da expressão proteica de Dicer e o impacto dessa proteína na determinação da identidade funcional de adipócitos. Também estuda a comunicação entre tecidos e as alterações epigenéticas que ocorrem no contexto da restrição calórica em C. elegans. Tem experiência na área de Bioquímica, com ênfase em Biologia Molecular, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Dicer, adipócitos, miRNAs, envelhecimento e restrição calórica.
