Júlio de Oliveira Lima

Júlio de Oliveira Lima is graduated in Letters - bachelor´s degree in Translation - at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE, Brazil) and in march 2021 had his mastership degree in Language Sciences, at the Catholic University of Pernambuco (UNICAP). Currently he works at the Federal University of Mato Grosso as a substitute professor, teaching classes of Inglês Instrumental and Estágio Supervisionado I. Studying the English language at Cultura Inglesa´s course since his childhood, he acquired the First Certificate in English (FCE), from Cambridge. Translator and interpreter, he also attended a course at SISMALTEC in simultaneous translation, with professor Ayrton Farias. In the fall of 2011 he was part of an exchange course promoted by CAPES/FIPSE in the United States, at Winston Salem State University (North Carolina), where he had contact with the African-american culture of the country. The topic for the exchange was the "African Diaspora in America: Persistent Inequalities", in a course that evolved students from both countries, focused on the social and cultural areas. Later when he came back to Recife, he graduated in 2012 at UFPE. Júlio Lima also worked as a musician, playing in bands such as Tagore (PE), Verônica Decide Morrer (CE), Caiçara (PE) and with his solo project called Feiticeiro Julião. During his artistic activities, he traveled Brazilian´s Southeast and South, living in São Paulo for a while, where he played in a theatrical group called A Motosserra Perfumada. He also played in SESCs of many cities and played at the Lollapalooza Festival with Tagore, in 2018. Currently besides studying the mastership, he is working at Frei Caneca FM, the public radio station of Recife. In 2019 and 2020 he worked at Frei Caneca FM, the public radio of Recife (Brazil), producing and presenting the program ?A Palavra e O Som?, with 49 chapters (from October 2019 untill October 2020), when he interviewed Brazilian artists such as Sueli Costa, Gerson Conrad (from the band Secos & Molhados) and Edgar Scandurra. At the radio, Júlio also worked as DJ and produces programas such as ?Novos Clássicos?, ?Faixa Especial? and ?Mercado?. His current research at the mastership degree in UNICAP is in the Discourse Analysis area, under Dr.Nadia Azevedo´s assistance. His project is about Alceu Valença and Geraldo Azevedo and how their music faced the years of Dictatorship in the country. His thesis, at the mastership degree, was finished and had approval in March 2021, at UNICAP, in the area of the Discourse French Analysis, under the orientation of Professor Nadia Azevedo. His research dealt with the first records of singer and songwriter Alceu Valença and how his first three albuns manifested the resistance against the Military Dictatorship in Brazil. The title of the research was "Os Cabelos Longos de Alceu Valença na Ditadura Militar: uma análise discursiva de suas canções (1972/1976)". In 2021, after passing a public contest, Júlio Lima started teaching at the UFMT. He is part of the group of Letters at that university.

Júlio de Oliveira Lima é formado no curso de Letras - bacharelado em Tradução de Inglês - na Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) e recebeu o título de mestre em março de 2021, no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Linguagem (PPGCL), na Universidade Católica de Pernambuco (UNICAP). Atualmente trabalha como professor substituto na UFMT, ministrando aulas de Inglês Instrumental e Estágio Supervisionado I. Estudante da língua inglesa desde a infância, concluiu curso na Cultura Inglesa, com o diploma First Certificate in English (FCE). Tradutor e intérprete simultâneo, também fez o curso da SISMALTEC em interpretação simultânea com o professor Ayrton Farias. No segundo semestre de 2011, Júlio fez o curso de intercâmbio de um semestre promovido pela parceria CAPES/FIPSE nos Estados Unidos, na Winston Salem State Universtity (Carolina do Norte), com bolsa da CAPES, onde conheceu profundamente a cultura negra do sul daquele país. O intercâmbio tinha como temática a "Diáspora Africana nas Américas: Desigualdades Persistentes", num estudo que englobava a realidade de ambos os países, com foco nas questões socioculturais. De volta ao Recife, formou-se em 2012 na UFPE, concluindo o seu ensino superior. Júlio Lima também atuou como músico, tocando em bandas como Tagore (PE), Verônica Decide Morrer (CE), Caiçara (PE) e seu projeto solo Feiticeiro Julião. Graças à sua atividade artística, viajou por Sudeste e Sul, chegando a estabelecer residência em São Paulo, onde tocou com o grupo de teatro A Motosserra Perfumada, na peça "Aquilo que me arrancaram foi a única coisa que me restou" (2015/2016). Ele também se apresentou no SESC de várias cidades de SP e em festivais, incluindo o Lollapalooza 2018, com Tagore. Em 2019 e 2020 trabalhou na Frei Caneca FM, a rádio púbica do Recife, produzindo e apresentando o quadro "A Palavra e O Som", com 49 edições (de outubro de 2019 a outubro de 2020), em que entrevistou artistas como Sueli Costa, Gerson Conrad (Secos & Molhados) e Edgar Scandurra. Na rádio, Júlio também atuou como programador musical e produtor dos programas "Novos Clássicos", "Faixa Especial" e "Mercado". Sua dissertação, concluída e aprovada em março de 2021, na UNICAP, é na área da Análise do Discurso francesa, sob a orientação de Nadia Azevedo. A pesquisa tratou dos primeiros discos de Alceu Valença e sobre como se dava a manifestação da resistência à Ditadura Militar em seus três primeiros álbuns, com o título "Os Cabelos Longos de Alceu Valença na Ditadura Militar: uma análise discursiva de suas canções (1972/1976)". Em 2021, por meio de um concurso público, Júlio Lima começou a dar aulas na UFMT. Ele faz parte do corpo docente de Letras na universidade.
