Dr. Cristiano André da Costa is a Full Professor and researcher at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos), Brazil. He has been working at the Applied Computing Graduate Program and directing the SOFTWARELAB, Unisinos Laboratory of Software Innovation. Dr. Costa is the founder of SOFTWARELAB, which develops many Research, Development Innovation (R, D I) projects within the industry. His research interests include distributed and mobile computing, the Internet of Things, semantic interoperability, and artificial intelligence, mainly applied to health. Dr. Costa obtained his Ph. D. and M. Sc. in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. In 2016, he was a visiting professor at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU, Germany) in the Pattern Recognition Lab. He has been a Researcher Fellow at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, Brazil) since 2012. Professor Cristiano Costa is a senior member of the ACM and IEEE. He is a member of the Engineering in Medicine Biology Society (EMBS), the International Association for the Development of the Information Society (IADIS), and the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). He currently coordinates the Special Commission on Computing Applied to Health (CECAS) at SBC.
Dr. Cristiano André da Costa é Professor Titular II na Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos). É pesquisador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Computação Aplicada (PPGCA) e diretor do SOFTWARELAB, Núcleo de Excelência em Inovação de Software da Unisinos. Dr. Costa é o fundador do SOFTWARELAB, no qual coordena diversos projetos de pesquisa, desenvolvimento e inovação (PDI) com a indústria. Seus interesses de pesquisa incluem computação móvel e distribuída, Internet das Coisas, interoperabilidade semântica, e inteligência artificial, principalmente aplicados à área de saúde. Dr. Costa é Mestre e Doutor em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Em 2016, foi professor visitante na Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU, Alemanha) no Pattern Recognition Lab. Ele é bolsista de produtividade do CNPq desde 2012. Professor Cristiano Costa é membro sênior da ACM e IEEE. Ele é membro da Engineering in Medicine Biology Society (EMBS), da International Association for the Development of the Information Society (IADIS) e da Sociedade Brasileira de Computação (SBC). Atualmente coordena na SBC a Comissão Especial de Computação Aplicada à Saúde (CECAS).
