Degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1991), Master's in Agronomy (Phytotechnics) from the Federal University of Lavras (1993) and PhD in Agronomy (Phytotechnics) from the Federal University of Lavras (1995). Coordinator of the undergraduate course in Agronomy at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) from 1997-1998 and at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) from 2013-2016; coordinator of the postgraduate course in Agronomy at UFU (2003 to 2008) and Director of Research at UFU (2008 to 2012). Vice-president of the Brazilian Horticulture Association (2012 to 2018) and member of the CNPq advisory committee in the field of Agronomy (2018-2021). CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship since 2000. Coordinator of professional programs in the Agricultural Sciences Assessment Area I CAPES (2022 - current). Full Professor and Director of Institutional Evaluation at the Federal University of Uberlândia and evaluator at INEP/MEC (Institutions, Courses and ARCU-SUL). He works in the area of Phytotechnics, with emphasis on horticulture, tissue culture and medicinal aromatic plants, working mainly on the following topics: management and cultural practices; micropropagation; fertilization and hydroponics.
Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (1991), mestrado em Agronomia (Fitotecnia) pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (1993) e doutorado em Agronomia (Fitotecnia) pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (1995). Coordenador da graduação em Agronomia da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) de 1997-1998 e da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) de 2013-2016; coordenador da pós-graduação em Agronomia da UFU (2003 a 2008) e Diretor de Pesquisa da UFU (2008 a 2012). Vice-presidente da Associação Brasileira de Horticultura (2012 a 2018) e membro do comitê de assessoramento do CNPq na área de Agronomia (2018-2021). Bolsista Produtividade em Pesquisa CNPq desde 2000. Coordenador adjunto (programas profissionais) da Área de Avaliação de Ciências Agrárias I CAPES (2022 - atual). Professor titular e Diretor de Avaliação Institucional da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia e avaliador do INEP/MEC (Instituições, Cursos e ARCU-SUL). Trabalha na área de Fitotecnia, com ênfase em olericultura, cultura de tecidos e plantas aromáticas medicinais, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: manejo e tratos culturais; micropropagação; adubação e hidroponia.
