Sandra da Silva Mattos

Medical degree in 1981 by the Federal University of Pernambuco. Fellowship in Pediatric and Foetal Cardiology at the Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, London, UK (1983-1988). Ex Locumn Consultant in Paediatric Cardiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK (1989) and Assistant Professor in Paediatric Cardiology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, USA (1990). Medical director of the Maternal-Fetal Cardiac Unit and Caduceus-research center at the Royal Portuguese Hospital in Recife, and president of the Heart Circle of Pernambuco, Brazil (since 1991). PhD in Biotechnology from Notheast Biotechnology Network with thesis developed at the Immunopathology Laboratory, Keiko Asami, from the Federal Universit of Pernambuco (2010). Areas of expertise: paediatric and fetal cardiology, echocardiography, telemedicine and developmental origins of health and disease.

Doutora em Biotecnologia​​ pela Rede Nordeste de Biotecnologia ​(2010) ​​com tese desenvolvida no Laboratório de Imunopatologia Keiko Asami (LIKA) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. ​Especialista em Cardiologia Pediatrica e Fetal e Ecocardiografia, ​com projetos na área de tele-saúde (Rede de Cardiologia Pediátrica) e pesquisa na na área das Origens do Desenvolvimento da Doença e da Saúde​​.
