Ana Claudia Duarte Cardoso

Holds a PhD in Architecture (Oxford Brookes University /UK, 2002). She is Professor in Federal University of Pará (UFPA), and conducts her activities in the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (UFPA), Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU/UFPA) and Postgraduate Program of Economics (PPGE/UFPA). From October 2016 to October 2018 she was the coordinator of PPGAU/UFPA. She is a Researcher of Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq) since 2010, and has experience in Urban and Regional Planning applied to Eastern Amazonian context. Her current research interest is the convergence between the extensive urbanization and cities naturalization processes, assuming that the right to the city needs to encompass the right to nature for all those who need its support to build their livelihoods. Her research has covered the Metropolitan Region of Belém and some medium and small cities in Pará State affected by intense overall transformations over the last decades.

Professora titular da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). Membro do corpo docente permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (PPGAU/UFPA) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Economia (PPGE/UFPA). Graduada em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1990), mestre em Planejamento Urbano pela Universidade de Brasília (1994) e doutora em Arquitetura pela Oxford Brookes University, UK (2002). Participou da gestão do Governo do Pará (2007-2009). Foi docente na UFRN (2009-2011). Foi professora visitante na École de Urbanisme de Paris (2017). Foi diretora da ANPUR (2015-2017). Foi diretora da ANPARQ (2020-2022). É conselheira suplente do CAU BR (Pará). Consultora ad hoc do CNPq, da CAPES, da FAPESP e da FAPEMA e de periódicos da área. Seu interesse de pesquisa atual é a convergência entre a urbanização extensiva observada na Amazônia Oriental, os arranjos espaciais dos assentamentos humanos da região e a defesa do direito à sociobiodiversidade.
