Robert Neill Gerard Miller

Possui Graduação em Ciencias Biologicas - Manchester Metropolitan University, UK (1990), Mestrado em Proteção de Plantas - University Of Bath, UK (1991) e Doutorado em Biologia Molecular e Fitopatologia - University of Reading, UK (1995). Atualmente é Professor Associado III da Universidade de Brasilia (Campus Darcy Ribeiro, Departamento de Biologia Celular), orientando nos Programas de Pos-Graduaçao em Biologia Molecular e Fitopatologia. Atuou entre 2014 e 2016 como Coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Biologia Molecular (CAPES conceito 6). Tem atuado como Editor Senior para os periódicos internacionais Annals of Botany (Regional Editor for South America), Phytopathology, Tropical Plant Pathology e Biotechnology Research & Innovation, e é coordenador de projetos nacionais e internacionais, principalmente nos seguintes temas:genômica funcional de plantas e microrganismos; busca de genes de resistência a estresse biótico em plantas; e caracterização molecular de fungos fitopatogenicos, micotoxigenicos e lignoceluloliticos.
The researcher gained an undergraduate degree in Applied Biological Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK (1990), a Master's degree in Crop Protection from the University of Bath, UK (1991) and a PhD in Molecular Biology and Phytopathology from the University of Reading, UK (1995). Currently an Associate Professor at the University of Brasilia, Brazil (Department of Cellular Biology), student supervision is provided in the post-graduate programs in Molecular Biology and Phytopathology. Between 2014 and 2016, the researcher coordinated the Post-Graduate Program in Molecular Biology (CAPES rating 6). Currently and previously a Senior Section Editor at the journals Annals of Botany (Regional Editor for South America), Phytopathology, Tropical Plant Pathology and Biotechnology Research & Innovation, the researcher is also a coordinator of national and international projects, with research focusing on functional genomics in plants and micro-organisms, biotic stress resistance gene discovery in plants, and molecular characterization of phytopathogenic, mycotoxigenic and lignocellulolytic fungi.
