Iman Hossein Pour Babaei
Iman Hossein Pour Babaei (i.hosseinpour) has obtained his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mazandaran (UMZ), Iran in 2005. He has also got his Master in Geotechnical Engineering in fall 2008 from the same university. In June 2011, he has joined to the Graduate School of Engineering (COPPE) of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) as a full time Ph.D. student. His Ph.D. thesis investigated the performance of a test embankment on geosynthetic-encased granular columns. The Ph.D. research also included a detailed site investigation, ground instrumentation, field observation, and complementary numerical modeling which resulted in several peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Dr. Hosseinpour is now a full time postdoc researcher at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, contributing in publication of journal papers, supervising M.Sc. and B.Sc. students as well as teaching the graduate students. During past five years, he has been involved in several practical projects for design and analysis of piled-embankment, ordinary and encased granular columns, vertical drains, instrumentation, in-situ testing, and deep excavations.
