Full Professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo. He works in postgraduate courses in Arts and History at the same University. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Drawing and Plastics from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1972), a Degree in Artistic Education from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1977), a Degree in Pedagogy, with Qualification in Teaching Supervision and Educational Administration, by Faculty of Philosophy, Science and Letters of Andradina (1980); Master's Degree in Arts from the University of São Paulo (1989) and Doctorate in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1997), with a sandwich scholarship at the University of Paris I (Panthéon Sorbonne). Postdoctoral in Art Sciences at the University of Paris I (2002) and Research Internship at École des Hautes Études in Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris (2014). He was a member of the Arts Committee -CA -AC of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq (2018-2021). He is a CNPq productivity fellow. Member of the Brazilian Committee for the History of Art (CBHA), the National Association of Plastic Arts Researchers (ANPAP), the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), the Brazilian Association of Art Critics and the Historical and Geographical Institute of Espírito Holy. He has experience in the field of Arts, with an emphasis on Art History, working mainly on the following subjects: modern and contemporary art, art and politics, photography, modern painting, printmaking, art and criticism and conceptual art.
Possui bacharelado em Desenho e Plástica pela Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (1972); graduação em Licenciatura em Educação Artística pela Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (1976); graduação em Pedagogia com habilitações em Supervisão Escolar e em ADMINISTRAÇÀO EDUCACIONAL pela Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras de Andradina (1980). Cursou mestrado em História da Arte na ECA-USP- Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo (1989); doutorado em Comunicação e Semiótica na Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1997), com bolsa-sanduíche na Universidade de Paris I (Pantheon Sorbonne); Pós-Doutorado na Universiddade de Paris I (2002). Realizou Estágio Técnico-Científico na École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris (2014) e Visita Técnica na Universidade de Paris VIII (2023). Atua como professor titular da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, nos cursos de Pós-Graduação e Artes (PPGA) e em História (PPGHIS). É pesquisadora de Produtividade do CNPq (Nível I B). Foi assessora da Área de Artes do CNPq no período de 2018-2022. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em Teoria, Crítica e História da Arte, com foco de pesquisa principalmente nos seguintes temas: arte e política, arte moderna, pintura, escultura, gravura, fotografia e arte, arte contemporânea, arte cinética, arte conceitua, colecionismo.
