Nise Hitomi Yamaguchi

Dr. Nise Hitomi Yamaguchi, 62, graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in 1982 and completed her residency in Clinical Medicine and Immunology and Allergy at Hospital das Clínicas da FMUSP in 1988. During her studies courses in Germany and Switzerland on the humanistic vision of the Patient and his family, he participated in meetings in New York, with scientists from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he learned aspects of Tumor Immunology that resulted in the Master's Thesis defended in the Immunology Discipline of HCFMUSP in 1993. He attended the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he carried out the experiments in Professor Xiaochu Xu's laboratories, under the auspices of Dr. Waun Ki Hong and Dr. Reuben Lotan, and defended his PhD thesis in the Department of Pulmonology at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Medical School of USP, in 2002. She has the title of Medical Cancerologist with an area of ​​expertise in Clinical Oncology by the Medical Association Brasileira and the Brazilian Society of Cancerology (SBC), having been Scientific Director of SBC between 1997-2000, when she participated in the idealization and organization of the Centers of High Complexity in Brazil. He was Representative of the Minister of Health for the State of São Paulo between 2008-2011, participated in the International Affairs Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and is a Senior Scientist at the Prevention and Research Institute and co-founder of the World Prevention Alliance based in Lyon, where she collaborates to improve access to cancer treatment in low- and middle-income countries and edited two books with the group of researchers: State of Oncology 2013 and the Breast Cancer Report 2012. She is the President Director of the Institute for Advances in Medicine, President Director of the Instituto Nise Yamaguchi and is a volunteer doctor at the Instituto da Criança of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, where she stimulated the creation of an outpatient smoking cessation clinic for young people, the creation of an innovation group in new technologies and humanization and caregiver care programs. His line of research is on Personalized Medicine in Cancer, having taught classes on the topic in the Clinical Research Course at Harvard Medical School. She is a medical assistant at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein ,. She is the director of the Brazilian Association of Medical Women of the State of São Paulo and Brazil and also Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Cancerology. It organizes national and international congresses, focusing on Tobacco control and Personalized Medicine and Precision and Immunobiomodulation. She is the author / co-author of 3 books in the area of ​​oncology. She was awarded several awards. Among the most recent ones, we highlight: (1) 2019: Latin American Award - Mexico City- Recognition as founder of the Latin American Conferences on Lung Cancer, for the Tobacco Control activities and for the access of cancer patients to the best treatments throughout Latin America. (2) 2019: International Prevention and Research Institute recognition Award - Lyon-France - International Prevention and Research Institute recognition Award - Lyon-France - July 2019 at the meeting of the Directors of the National Cancer Institutes due to Prevention and Research , with a focus on public implementation and regional disparities. In 2018 she received the Joseph Cullen Award from the International Association for Lung Cancer Studies in Toronto Canada. She works in the area of ​​Immunology to cope with the pandemic caused by COVID-19, in Health Governance in Latin America and Brazil and in Clinical and Translational Oncology, with emphasis on personalized, humanized and precision treatment.

Dra. Frequentou o MD Anderson Cancer Center em Houston, onde realizou os experimentos nos laboratórios do Professor Xiaochu Xu , sob os auspícios do Dr. Waun Ki Hong e do Dr. Reuben Lotan , e defendeu a tese de Doutorado na Disciplina de Pneumologia do Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da USP, em 2002. Tem o título de Médica Cancerologista com área de atuação em Oncologia Clínica pela Associação Médica Brasileira e pela Sociedade Brasileira de Cancerologia(SBC), tendo sido Diretora Científica da SBC entre 1997-2000, quando participou da idealização e organização dos Centros de Alta Complexidade no Brasil. Foi Representante do Ministro da Saúde para o Estado de São Paulo entre 2008-2011 , participou do International Affairs Committee da American Society of Clinical Oncology e é Cientista Senior do Instituto de Prevenção e Pesquisa e co-fundadora da World Prevention Alliance sediado em Lyon, onde colabora para melhorar o acesso ao tratamento do câncer em países de baixa e média renda e editou dois livros com o grupo de pesquisadores: State of Oncology 2013 e o Breast Cancer Report 2012. É Diretora Presidente do Instituto Avanços em Medicina, Diretora Presidente do Instituto Nise Yamaguchi e é médica voluntária do Instituto da Criança do Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo, onde estimulou a criação de um ambulatório de cessação de tabagismo em jovens, a criação de um grupo de inovação em novas tecnologias e programas de humanização e de cuidados com o cuidador. Sua linha de pesquisa é sobre a Medicina Personalizada no Câncer, tendo dado aulas sobre o tema no Curso de Pesquisa Clínica da Harvard Medical School. É médica assistencial do Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, . É diretora da Associação Brasileira de Mulheres Médicas do Estado de São Paulo e do Brasil e também Vice-Presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Cancerologia . Organiza congressos nacionais e internacionais, com foco em controle de Tabagismo e Medicina Personalizada e de Precisão e Imunobiomodulação. É autora/coautora de 3 livros na área de oncologia. Foi laureada com diversos prêmios. Dentre os mais recentes destacam-se: (1) 2019: Prêmio Latino-Americano - cidade do México- Reconhecimento como fundadora das Conferências Latino-Americanas sobre Câncer de Pulmão, pelas atividades de Controle do Tabaco e pelo acesso de pacientes com câncer a melhores tratamentos em toda a América Latina. (2) 2019: Prêmio de reconhecimento do Instituto Internacional de Prevenção e Pesquisa - Lyon-França (International Prevention and Research Institute recognition Award ?
