Doutor em Ciências (área: Química Orgânica) pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Mestre em Produtos Naturais (Farmacologia e Química) pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba e tem pós-doutorado em Química Medicinal pela Universidade de Cardiff, Reino Unido. Professor Titular de Química Farmacêutica na Universidade Federal da Paraíba, atua nos seguintes temas: Química Medicinal, Química de Produtos Naturais e Síntese Orgânica, estabelecendo uma interface entre a Química e a Farmacologia. É docente permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Produtos Naturais e Sintéticos Bioativos (Nível 6) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Desenvolvimento e Inovacão Tecnológica em Medicamentos. Seu trabalho é altamente colaborativo e mantém parcerias técnico-científicas com pesquisadores de diversas instituições do país e no exterior, tais como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, China, Itália, Turquia e Equador. É revisor de dezenas de periódicos, além de membro do corpo editorial de várias revistas científicas internacionais. Publicou os livros "Bioactive Essential Oils and Cancer" pela editora Springer e "Medicinal Essential Oils: Chemical, Pharmacological and Therapeutic Aspects" pela Nova Science Publishers, "Óleos Essenciais: Abordagem Farmacêutica e Clínica" pela editora Laszlo. Consultor ad hoc do CNPq, FAPITEC, SBPC, FAPEAM, FAPESPA e FACEPE. Vice-coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Produtos Naturais e Sintéticos Bioativos (12/2016-03/2019). Sua pesquisa tem como principal foco a abordagem químico-medicinal de Produtos Naturais e derivados sintéticos com potencial uso terapêutico. É Bolsista de Produtividade 1D do CNPq (processo: 306729/2019-9) e recebeu a Comenda Darcy Ribeiro da Assembleia Legislativa do Estado da Paraíba por destaque na pesquisa científica; é o segundo pesquisador mais influente na área de Química Medicinal e Bioorgânica do Brasil, conforme avaliação da Universidade de Stanford no ranking dos pesquisadores mais influentes do mundo (2022) .
PhD in Sciences (area: Organic Chemistry) from the Federal University of São Carlos, Master in Natural Products (Pharmacology and Chemistry) from the Federal University of Paraíba and has a postdoctoral degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Cardiff, United Kingdom. Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Federal University of Paraíba, works on the following topics: Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry of Natural Products and Organic Synthesis, establishing an interface between Chemistry and Pharmacology. He is a permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Natural and Synthetic Bioactive Products (Level 6) and at the Graduate Program in Development and Technological Innovation in Medicines. Its work is highly collaborative and maintains technical-scientific partnerships with researchers from various institutions in the country and abroad, such as the United States, England, China, Italy, Turkey and Ecuador. He is a reviewer for dozens of journals, as well as a member of the editorial board of several international scientific journals. He has published the books "Bioactive Essential Oils and Cancer" by Springer Publishers and "Medicinal Essential Oils: Chemical, Pharmacological and Therapeutic Aspects" by Nova Science Publishers, "Essential Oils: Pharmaceutical and Clinical Approach" by Laszlo Publishers. He is a CNPq 1D Productivity Scholar (process: 306729 / 2019-9) and received the Darcy Ribeiro Commendation from the Legislative Assembly of the State of Paraíba for outstanding scientific research; he is the second most influential researcher in the area of Medicinal and Bioorganic Chemistry in Brazil, as evaluated by Stanford University in the ranking of the most influential researchers in the world (2022).
