Renato Crouzeilles Pereira Rocha

Renato Crouzeilles is: Science Diretor at MOMBAK, CEO at International Institute for Sustainability Australia (IIS AU), and Collaborator lecture at Post-Graduate Program in Ecology at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Previously I was Senior Manager at the International Institute for Sustainability Rio, lecture at Professional Master in Environmental Science at the Veiga de Alameida University, and lecture at Professional Master in Sustainability Science at Pontificia Católica Unversity. I worked for 6.5 years developing scientific research and supporting public policies and non-governmental movements for forest and landscape restoration by leveraging assisted natural regeneration. Currently, I have been building a verticalized startup that aims to become the world's largest carbon removal company starting by reforesting the Brazilian Amazon. My experience includes nature-based solutions for climate change, ecology, forest and landscape restoration, systematic spatial planning, and capacity building. My current role in implementing high-quality carbon market projects through large-scale reforestation of native species includes informing site selection and land parcel acquisition, defining species list and reforestation models, developing a research agenda, monitoring, verifying, and reporting. I have a Ph.D. in Ecology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, partially developed at the University of Queensland e the Australian National University.
