Sergio Alberto Apolinario Almeida

Graduação em Engenharia de Pesca pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (1998), mestrado em Engenharia de Pesca, área de concentração: Aquicultura (2005) e Doutorado em Biotecnologia de Recursos Pesqueiros na Universidade Federal do Ceará (2014). Atualmente é professor EBTT do Curso de Bacharelado em Engenharia de Aquicultura do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará, Campus Morada Nova (2012). Possui experiência no cultivo de camarões marinhos em águas oligohalinas e peixes de água doce, monitoramento ambiental e qualidade da água, soluções de gestão e automação aplicada a aquicultura e desenvolvimento de sistemas de cultivo de baixa demanda hídrica.
He graduated in Fisheries Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará in 1998, performing his postgraduate studies in Aquaculture and Biotechnology of Fishing Resources at the Federal University of Ceará, where he obtained Master and Doctor degrees in 2005 and 2014, respectively. He has experience in formulating, manufacturing and quality control of fish and shrimp feeds. Since 2012 he has been an EBTT Professor at the Federal Institute of Ceara (IFCE), where he coordinates the Didactics Unit for Aquaculture Research - UDPA. At the institution, he teaches the disciplines: aquaculture, water quality, soils, water recirculation systems in aquaculture, nutrition of aquatic organisms in the undergraduate programs in Aquaculture Engineering and Aquaculture Technician. In the postgraduate course in Environmental Management he teaches the discipline Environmental Impact Assessment. He has been conducting and researching shrimp and freshwater fish in the lines of food management, alternative ingredients, water quality, automation and superintendent systems in a closed regime. From the administrative point of view, he coordinated the Technical Course in Aquaculture (2014-2016), Coordinator of the Aquaculture Engineering course (2016-2018), and the Lato Sensu Specialization in Limnology and Water Resources Management (UNIAMÉRICAS-2011 ). In parallel, he has contributed as a Board Member of the Association of Fisheries Engineers of Ceará (AEP-CE). He is a full member of the IFCE of the Tilapia Sectorial Chamber and a substitute member of the Camarão Sectorial Chamber of the Government of the State of Ceará (ADECE). He worked as technical consultant in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Secretariat of the Government of the State of Ceará - SPA (2011) developing projects in the areas of Family Aquaculture and Mariculture; in the Department of Environment and Urban Control of Fortaleza - SEMAM (2009), was part of the technical team of the Lagoas de Fortaleza Program and the Orla's Depollution Program in partnership with CAGECE; Was technical consultant at AQUABOUNTY TECHNOLOGIES in project of "Evaluation of the Use of Protein Immunostimulants added to ration for shrimp" (2008); At GUABI NUTRIÇÃO ANIMAL he was Technical / Commercial Supervisor of the N / NE regions (2002-2007), implementing the commercial segment of Aquaculture Feeding and providing technical lectures, training and zootechnical support to fish and shrimp producers; In RIO FRI-RIBE (2000-2002), he was Territory Manager for the entire state of Ceará, responsible for technical assistance to Tilápia producers; At MARÉ-VIVA - STUDIES ASSOCIATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENT, he developed community projects in the municipalities of Trairi and Maranguape, Ceará (1998-2000). Scientific reviewer of Ocean & Coastal Management, Acta Scientarium and Caatinga Magazine.
