Gabriela Alves Sabadin

Gabriela Sabadin received her Bachelor?s degree in Biotechnology at Universidade Federal de Pelotas in 2012. Her Bachelor (2012), Master (2013- 2015), and PhD (2015-2019) degrees were all performed in the field of cellular and molecular biology, at the Laboratory of Immunology Applied to Animal Health, which is part of a Graduate Program of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Her research line at this laboratory is focused on the development of recombinant vaccines against cattle ticks, through the characterization of tick proteins. The main topic of the Master's thesis was to investigate the functions of recombinant proteins related to tick feeding and digestion, while the PhD thesis was about the investigation of a range of antioxidant and detoxification enzymes. Gabriela collaborated in studies related to transcriptomic and proteomic analysis. Gabriela worked as Post-doc researcher at the same laboratory at UFRGS (2019-2021) in a project for the characterization of acaracide transporters and detoxification in ticks. She also has teaching experience by giving classes to the Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine of UFRGS and in the postgraduation program.

Possui graduação em Biotecnologia pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (2009-2012), mestrado (2013-2015) e doutorado (2015-2019) pelo programa de pós graduação em Biologia celular e molecular da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFGRS), desenvolvidos no laboratório de imunologia aplicada à sanidade animal, principalmente em projetos relacionados à expressão recombinante e caracterização molecular e funcional de inibidores de proteases e enzimas redox de várias espécies de carrapatos. Entre 2019-2021 atuou como pesquisadora de pós-doutorado no laboratório de imunologia aplicada à sanidade animal, desenvolvendo o projeto de caracterização de transportadores de ânions orgânicos no carrapato bovino, entre outras atividades docentes.
