Doutor pelo PROGRAMA DE PÓS-GRADUAÇÃO EM SOCIOLOGIA da Universidade de São Paulo, em 2007; Professor de Sociologia no Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas (IFCH), do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia e do Mestrado Profissional em Segurança Cidadã, todos da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS); vencedor do Prêmio José Albertino Rodrigues de melhor dissertação de mestrado do concurso CNPq-ANPOCS de Obras Científicas e Teses Universitárias em Ciências Sociais, em 2002; autor do livro "Na trilha do Jeca: Monteiro Lobato e a formação do campo literário no Brasil" (Bauru, S.P.: Edusc, 2003), e de artigos em periódicos no Brasil e no exterior sobre pensamento social brasileiro, sociologia da literatura e da leitura, sociologia da cultura e teoria social - com ênfase em autores como Pierre Bourdieu, Norbert Elias, Raymond Williams e Émile Durkheim. É líder do GECCA-Sul (Grupo de Estudos em Cultura, Comunicação e Arte), grupo de pesquisa inscrito no CNPq, que, atualmente, desenvolve a investigação intitulada "Sonhos, sociedade e pandemia", que visa desenvolver uma sociologia dos sonhos em contexto pandêmico. Recentemente também venho me dedicando ao estudo da sociologia digital.

PhD from the POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM IN SOCIOLOGY at the University of São Paulo, in 2007; Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH), at the Graduate Program in Sociology and at the Professional Master's in Citizen Security at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS); winner of the José Albertino Rodrigues Award for the best master's dissertation of the CNPq-ANPOCS contest for Scientific Works and University Theses in Social Sciences, in 2002; author of the book "On the trail of Jeca: Monteiro Lobato and the formation of the literary field in Brazil" (Bauru, S.P.: Edusc, 2003), and of articles in periodicals in Brazil and abroad on Brazilian social thought, sociology of literature and reading, sociology of culture and social theory - with emphasis on authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Norbert Elias, Raymond Williams and Émile Durkheim. He is the leader of GECCA-Sul (Group of Studies in Culture, Communication and Art), a research group registered at CNPq, which is currently developing the investigation entitled "Dreams, society and pandemic", which aims to develop a sociology of dreams in pandemic context. Recently I have also been dedicating myself to the study of digital sociology.
